Privacy Policy
ImageTagger doesn’t collect any data. Your photos stay on your Mac.
Effective October 26, 2026
This policy covers the ImageTagger app for macOS, including its imagetagger command, and this
website.
The app
- No data collection. ImageTagger doesn’t collect, store or share personal data. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- Photos are analyzed on your Mac. Tags are predicted by a model that’s included in the app and runs on your Mac. Your photos and their tags are never uploaded, and the app doesn’t connect to the internet.
- Only the files you choose. The app reads only the photos and folders you open in it. It writes to them, and to the XMP sidecar files next to RAW images, only when you save tags, or when you turn on automatic saving in Settings.
- Settings stay on your Mac. Your preferences, like the tag format, are stored in the app’s settings on your Mac.
- Crash reports. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in System Settings, Apple may send crash reports for ImageTagger to the developer. These are handled under Apple’s privacy policy.

If you email support, your email address and your message are used only to answer you, and aren’t shared. If you open an issue on GitHub instead, the issue and everything you attach to it are public, so don’t include personal information or photos you don’t want to share.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
